What is

The COS is a scientific operator in the world of omic technologies fully equipped with cutting-edge metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomic, and genomic tools. The COS science facilities provide useful supportive services for companies and academia. Located at the Centre for RDI on Nutrition and Health (Reus-Spain), we offer scientific advice and support from experimental design prior to omic assessment complete with facilities with in-vitro and in-vivo models and a Human Nutrition Unit available to our clients.

The COS is part of Infraestructura de Tecnologías Ómicas (IOT) recognized as Infraestructura Científico Técnica Singular (ICTS) by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad.

Who

The COS was created by the URV (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona -Spain) whithin the CEICS (Campus d’Excel·lència Internacional de la Catalunya Sud, Tarragona,Spain). COS managing and scientific coordination is carried out by CTNS (Centre Tecnològic de Nutrició i Salut, Reus,Spain).

Mission

Our mission is to generate, deliver and transmit our knowledge in the omics fields to companies and the scientific community by providing competitive technologies applied in the field of nutrition, biotechnology, genetics, medicine, pharma and chemistry, in order to increase their market competitiveness or their scientific expertise, respectively.

COS also performs our own strategic RD, addressing the main issues in omic sciences and developing training courses and activities both for the academic community and stakeholders.

Vision

COS’s vision is to be a hub facility in omic sciences as a distinguishing opportunity to become a reference centre in Europe for Omic Sciences research and services.
